M. Voc in Mobile Phone Application Development
This course teaches students how to build mobile apps for android, iOS, and Windows 8, the trinity that is today's mobile operating platforms. Students learn to write both web apps and native apps for Android using Eclipse and the Android SDK, to write native apps for iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads  using Xcode and the iOS SDK, and to write web apps for both platforms.  The course provides students with a stepping stone for application development in the mobile operating system of their choice. Additional topics covered include application deployment and availability on the corresponding app stores and markets, application security, efficient power management, and mobile device security. This programme focuses on front-end mobile application clients, while the second part concentrates on data handling, connectivity to back-end services and cloud hosting. Become familiar with the end-to-end process to install, develop, test, and distribute mobile applications.
Course Objectives

  1. Describe and apply the different types of application models/architectures used to develop mobile software applications.
  2. Develop the skills required to create applications for the major mobile device players including Apple iOS, Google Android, Blackberry, and Windows Phone
  3. Develop the skills required to create applications using HTML5, jQuery Mobile and PhoneGap
  4. Learn how to effectively use application architectures to build variety of Mobile Apps.
  5. Explain the factors to consider when designing software for multiple platforms
  6. Implement applications using object oriented design, MVC pattern and test driven development
  7. Understand how to use other technologies including cloud computing and social networking platforms
  8. Learn how to work with web services
  9. Gain insight into new trends and features in the mobile device marketplace

Eligibility for M. Voc in Mobile Phone Application Development Course


Engineering graduates with 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the branches of Information Technology/Computer Science/Electronics & Communication or candidates with 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in MCA/M.Sc Computer Science degree or in BCA/B.Sc Computer Science/B.Sc Information Technology/B.Sc Computer Application/ B.Voc degree in relevant disciplines shall be eligible for admission to M.Voc in Mobile Phone Application Development Course
